In April and May, Wall Street banks and insurance companies will host their annual shareholder meetings. We expect shareholder resolutions calling for an end to fossil fuel expansion to be introduced at the meetings of every Wall Street bank and several major insurance companies.
That’s why we’ve launched Wall Street’s Moment of Truth: People or Fossil Fuels.
Ahead of shareholder season, we have one simple demand for Wall Street: stop providing financial services to any corporation expanding its fossil fuel operations.
We’re going to do everything we can to make our demand impossible to ignore. We’ll organize petitions, sign-on letters, digital actions, and on-the-streets protests at bank branches and insurance offices. And we will pressure investors, such as BlackRock and Vanguard, to vote the right way on shareholder resolutions.
The only thing powerful enough to move the world’s largest banks is a broad-based, people-powered movement.
